Atsushi Kurokawa

Atsushi is the leader of of the Black River Coven, a coven of vampires located in Kagoshima, Japan. He is also the father of Seiichi and Tsuruko Kurokawa. He lost his wife during the birth of his daughter, whom he dearly loved and missed greatly, never remarrying for a long time afterwards. He occupied himself with leading the coven and was always thought as a good leader. When one of the coven members, Yasuo Kurofuji (also Tsuruko's childhood friend) returns to Kagoshima with his girlfriend Juvela and Juvela's mother Esperanza, Atsushi welcomes them and gives Esperanza a tour, being quite respectful as she's the vampire princess (and also quite shocked at numerous times... XD). In the end, his heart finally connects to another again with Esperanza, and these two end falling in love.

Atsushi is a responsible man and a good leader. He tries to handle every situation as quickly as possible, yet there are things even he can't handle. He's respectful and very loving, holding all those dear to him very close. He also possesses water magic, however whenever he touches or uses it, the water comes out pitch black and colour, same for any water he touches, like a river or lake. This is unique to his coven and how they got their name. As he's a vampire, he hates sunglight and garlic.

He also is responsible for where the coven is located, deep under the water in Kagoshima bay. Black river vampires can come and go as they please due to having water magic and easily able to get in. It was designed this way to prevent outsiders or threats from intruding. It was majorly successful.
But in the end, he did end up building a back door into the coven complex in the end, so that Espy could still come and go as she pleased
